Job summary

The Boulder County Parks and Open Space Department is hiring a Special Projects Coordinator to oversee interdisciplinary infrastructure, restoration, and environmental projects. You will coordinate planning, scheduling, and readiness for execution while aligning with stewardship goals.

This full-time, exempt role based in Colorado requires collaboration across design, permitting, engineering, operations, and maintenance teams, ensuring projects stay on track and within scope with strong

Qualifications

• Seven+ years of combined education and experience in project coordination or management.
• Experience coordinating multi-disciplinary infrastructure and environmental projects.
• Ability to lead cross-workgroup collaboration and coordination.

Responsibilities

• Lead project leadership and coordination across interdisciplinary teams.
• Coordinate planning, scheduling, internal/external communications, and readiness for implementation.
• Facilitate cross-workgroup collaboration among design, permitting, engineering, construction, operations and maintenance.
• Identify risks, dependencies, and resource constraints; support proactive continuity.
• Mitigate delays and safety concerns through structured sequencing and oversight.
• Track and report progress; maintain documentation and transparency.
• Collaborate with operations and maintenance to integrate field knowledge into sequencing and adjustments.
• Incorporate whole-property needs, long-term stewardship, and environmental compatibility in planning.
