Job summary

The City of Concord is seeking a Parks Manager to lead the Parks Maintenance Division, directing park services, trees, medians, and open spaces while translating the Parks Master Plan into actionable operations. You will modernize workflows and champion professional growth across all crew levels.

The role emphasizes staff development, budget oversight, reporting to Council, and pursuing funding opportunities to support city parks goals in a collaborative Public Works environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in park administration, horticulture, engineering, public administration, business administration, or other closely related field.
• Five years of supervisory experience in parks planning and maintenance, preferably for a municipality.
• California Driver's License and a satisfactory driving record.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the development and execution of Parks Master Plan objectives and measurable targets.
• Lead staff across Parks Maintenance Division and modernize workflows and technology.
• Prepare and manage budgets for Parks Services, Street Trees, Medians, and Open Space.
• Coordinate with City departments, Parks and Recreation Commission, and City Council as needed.
• Promote City Mission, values, and professional growth across crews.
