Job summary

The City of Concord's Public Works Department seeks a Parks Manager to lead the Parks Maintenance Division, steward master planning, and modernize operations with new maintenance management practices.

You will develop measurable targets, advance the Parks Master Plan, manage budgets, and mentor staff across 27 full-time crew members, ensuring safe, aesthetically pleasing parks citywide.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated staff development and performance management.
• Experience with budget preparation and management.
• Ability to lead organizational change and modernization.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience translating master plan objectives into operations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Parks Maintenance Division, including parks, street trees, medians, open space, and landscape maintenance districts.
• Lead development and execution of the Parks Master Plan with measurable targets.
• Drive modernization of workflows and maintenance management technology.
• Mentor staff across all crew levels and promote a high-trust work environment.
• Prepare reports and present to City Council or other governing bodies.
