Job summary

City of Burnet is seeking a Parks Maintenance Worker to support park upkeep, operate heavy equipment, and help maintain athletic fields and irrigation systems. The role involves pruning, planting, cleaning facilities, and applying chemicals safely.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in grounds maintenance and landscaping preferred but not required.
• Must be 18 years old.
• Pre-employment drug and background screening required.
• Must possess a valid Texas driver's license and insurable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Operate mowers, tractors, trencher, and other equipment.
• Perform park landscape maintenance with hand and power tools.
• Assist in routine equipment maintenance.
• Climb and trim trees; prune shrubs; plant trees, flowers and shrubs.
• Maintain athletic fields and related facilities; clean restrooms; pick up litter.
• Maintain irrigation systems; apply chemicals safely; track fertilizers and chemicals used.
• Perform manual labor including lifting heavy weights; work outdoors in all weather.
