Job summary

City & Borough of Sitka Alaska is seeking a parks maintenance worker to support field operations for parks, recreational activities and special events.

You will assist crews, operate tools, maintain equipment, and help keep facilities safe. The role requires physical stamina and ability to follow written and verbal instructions, with flexibility for evenings, weekends, and emergencies.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma.
• Must have valid driver's license.
• Must have driving record sufficient for coverage by City’s auto liability carrier.

Responsibilities

• Assist field crews with park maintenance and repairs, including landscaping and turf management.
• Operate hand tools, weed eaters, mowers, and other equipment used for the division.
• Maintain and repair park equipment, vehicles, tools, and facilities.
• Maintain and repair picnic tables, fences, benches, trash cans and other park items.
• Work safely and in compliance with policies, procedures and safety rules.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
