Job summary

City of Pigeon Forge Parks and Recreation seeks a Groundskeeper I/II to maintain parks, facilities and playgrounds, operate mowers and irrigation systems, and support outdoor operations. The role requires endurance for weather and physical activity, along with the ability to follow instructions and safety procedures.

Two levels exist with pay per experience: I at $19.89/hour and II at $21.98/hour, with standard driving and equipment handling responsibilities and a focus on community service.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of safe operation of machinery used for lawn maintenance and landscaping.
• Ability to follow daily instructions and safety procedures.
• Experience with light building maintenance and interacting with the public.
• Possession of Tennessee driver’s license may be required.

Responsibilities

• Mows athletic facilities, grounds and common areas as seasons demand.
• Fertilizes, aerates and maintains greenery and spray programs as needed.
• Install, repair and maintain irrigation systems and related components.
• Assist with grounds improvement, lay sod and repair trails and facilities.
• Interact with the public courteously while performing maintenance tasks.
