Job summary

Ogden City is seeking a Maintenance Technician I - Forestry to assist in planting, maintaining, and removing trees and vegetation on city property. You will report to the Urban Forester and Crew Leader, performing semi-skilled tasks under supervision.

Job includes operating equipment, building work orders, and participating in safety practices. Outdoor work, physical labor, and required licenses are part of the role. Benefits accompany full-time employment with Ogden City.

Qualifications

• At least one year of experience in arboriculture or related field.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Equivalent combination of experience and education may qualify.

Responsibilities

• Assist in trimming, raising, and dead wooding trees on city property for safety and aesthetics.
• Assist in removal of dead and hazardous trees using herbicide or stump grinding.
• Create work orders and update Tree Inventory Program.
• Operate aerial lift, stump grinder, sprayers, chainsaw and other equipment.
• Assist with planting trees in parks and along streets.
