Job summary

Addison Park District is seeking a Parks Maintenance I to perform park, turf, and horticulture duties, including upkeep of athletic fields, pavilions, restrooms, and grounds. The role requires driving between sites, adherence to safety standards, and involvement in seasonal tasks and events.

The position operates 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with on-call duties during seasonal weather. Some responsibilities include snow removal and minor facility repairs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–2 years of related field experience preferred.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Pesticide Operator/Applicator license (state) preferred.
• CPR and AED certification within 6 months of hire.
• CPSI (Certified Playground Safety Inspector) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with general maintenance of athletic fields, parks, playgrounds, and turf areas.
• Clean and maintain park facilities, pavilions, restrooms, and buildings.
• Perform groundskeeping, litter pickup, and manage safety of facilities and equipment.
• Operate and perform preventive maintenance on park district vehicles and equipment.
• Assist with horticulture tasks including planting and maintenance.
• Document work hours and materials; assist with vendor quotes and work orders.
