Job summary

The Village of Orland Park is seeking a Part-Time Maintenance Worker for Recreation (Athletics). This role maintains parks and grounds, lays sod and athletic fields, and services fences, lights, and dugouts. Winter duties include snow removal.

Typical schedule ranges around 20–29 hours per week based on activity needs. Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent, 2–4 years related maintenance experience, a valid IL driver's license, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and push

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and 2–4 years of related maintenance experience.
• Ability to use hand tools and operate gasoline/electric powered equipment.
• Ability to diagnose equipment and mechanical malfunctions; follow instructions.
• Maintain effective working relationships; manage time; lift up to 50 lbs and push 90 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain turf areas and restore grounds on village properties.
• Install, mow and treat sod; lay out athletic fields and play areas.
• Install, maintain and repair fences, stands, lights, dugouts and related items.
• Shovel, snow blow, and apply salt during winter weather as needed.
