Job summary

City of Atlanta Parks & Recreation is seeking a Park District Maintenance Supervisor to coordinate and supervise a maintenance crew and contractors across multiple park properties. The role oversees landscaping, natural area maintenance, and preventive maintenance activities for city assets, ensuring safe, compliant operations.

The position requires leadership of 20–30 staff, collaboration with management, and strong emphasis on safety, scheduling, and resource allocation to maintain facilities

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3 years of progressively responsible experience in landscaping, natural area maintenance, horticulture, arboriculture, facilities maintenance, or related field.
• Two years minimum supervisory experience.
• Completion of appropriate technical course or associate’s degree in related field is highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise the work of a maintenance crew and contractors.
• Develop and implement routine, scheduled, and preventive maintenance programs.
• Prepare budgets, estimates, and project specifications including labor, materials, and overhead.
• Inspect facilities and sites; enforce safety standards and regulatory compliance.
• Screen and hire applicants and manage promotions, transfers, or dismissals.
