Job summary

City of Malibu is seeking a Parks Supervisor to oversee parks and landscape maintenance staff and contractors, ensuring safe, high-quality service across City facilities and open spaces.

The role requires hands-on leadership, development of work plans, capital project oversight, and effective reporting to the Community Services Director. Collaboration with leaders, staff, and contractors will be essential.

Qualifications

• The ideal candidate has extensive parks maintenance and supervisory experience.
• Three years of supervisory or administrative experience in park maintenance.
• High school diploma with related training; further education or certifications preferred.
• Must possess a California driver license and First Aid/CPR certification within six months.

Responsibilities

• Supervise parks and landscape maintenance staff and contractors to meet safety and quality standards.
• Develop work plans, oversee capital projects, and prepare reports for the Community Services Director.
• Provide sound professional advice and collaborate with City departments, staff, and stakeholders.
• Monitor budgets, manage resources, and document tasks and project outcomes.
