Job summary

The City of Shaker Heights is seeking a maintenance worker for parks, playgrounds and facilities. The role includes snow removal, room setup, facility sanitation and grounds upkeep, with emphasis on safe operation of tools and equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Some experience in maintenance and repair of buildings and playgrounds.
• Ability to read and communicate effectively in writing and speech.
• Medium to heavy physical work capability.

Responsibilities

• Waters grass and plants; removes snow; vacuums buildings.
• Sets up and takes down rooms for activities and meetings; relocates furniture.
• Maintains building; cleans restrooms, locker rooms; keeps facilities clean.
• Monitors supplies and informs managers of needs.
• Rakes and cleans playground surfaces; adds sand/materials as required.
• Operates ice resurfacing equipment and related tools.
