Job summary

The City of Kettering, Ohio is seeking Groundskeeper positions in the Parks Division, part of the Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts Department. You will support daily park and facility maintenance under supervision of a Parks Manager and staff.

Compensation ranges from $13.20 to $14.55 per hour. Seasonal roles run 40 hours/week Monday–Friday for up to 6 months; year‑round roles are up to 28 hours/week, Monday–Friday, year‑round. Must be at least 16 years old to start.

Qualifications

• Related education and/or training with groundskeeping experience highly desirable.
• Must be 16 years old before starting work.

Responsibilities

• Assists in parks maintenance operation, including mowing, weeding, litter clean-up, athletic field maintenance, tree trimming/removal and landscape maintenance, painting, restroom maintenance and minor equipment maintenance.
• Operates one or more of the following: push mower, riding mower, pickup truck with/without trailer, dump truck, paint striper, tractor, line trimmer, hand sprayer and other small equipment.
• Performs assigned jobs in a safe, efficient, responsible manner.
• Regular and predictable attendance required. Reports for work on time and ready for work at assigned scheduled hours.
