Job summary

King County Parks is seeking an Electrician I to join the Parks Crafts Crew. The role involves troubleshooting, installing, and maintaining electrical systems across parks facilities, with a focus on safety and reliability.

You will work in diverse environments, from athletic fields to public buildings, and collaborate with various teams to support community spaces. Ideal candidates have journey-level electrical experience, ability to read schematics, and strong problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Washington State General Journey-Level Electrician (EL01) license required.
• Hands-on experience maintaining, installing, and troubleshooting commercial or industrial electrical systems.
• Knowledge of electrical codes and safe work practices.
• Experience reading electrical drawings and equipment manuals.
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain electrical systems and equipment.
• Maintain interior and exterior lighting for facilities and outdoor areas.
• Work on panels, wiring, conduit, motors, pumps, HVAC equipment, and control systems.
• Maintain generators, transfer switches, UPS, solar, battery storage, and EV charging systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance and document inspections and repairs.
• Coordinate work with other trades, contractors, and County departments.
• Read drawings and equipment manuals; ensure repairs are safe and functional.
