Job summary

My County Parks is seeking a Unit Ranger Supervisor to manage designated county parks, access areas, and wildlife areas in the South Unit of Black Hawk County Conservation. The role requires coordinating staff, volunteers, and contractors to maintain facilities, enforce rules, and ensure safety for park users.

Responsibilities include supervising full-time and seasonal staff, training personnel, handling public inquiries, and maintaining accurate records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in resource management or related field with experience.
• Must complete Iowa Law Enforcement Academy training within one year of hire.
• Requires valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with appropriate classifications.

Responsibilities

• Supervises, plans, and carries out management of county parks and wildlife areas.
• Oversees maintenance, repairs, and facilities to ensure safety and accessibility.
• Promotes facilities and programs by recruiting volunteers and securing supplies.
• Meets the public, explains rules, collects fees, and provides services as needed.
• Directs training and development of Park Rangers and seasonal staff.
• Maintains records of park use, attendance, and fee collection.
