Arlington Heights Park District is seeking a skilled tradesperson to join the Parks Department as a General Trades - Carpentry. The role focuses on carpentry and maintenance across parks and facilities, handling day-to-day repairs, construction projects, and improvements to keep our parks safe, functional, and inviting.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and 1–2 years in building or shop trades, a valid IL Class C driver’s license, and CPR/AED certification within six months.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED with experience in one or more building or shop trades.
• Minimum of one to two years experience in one or more building or shop trades.
• Valid Illinois Class C “Non-CDL” Driver’s license within nine months of hire.
• CPR and AED Certification within six months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day repairs and maintenance across parks and facilities.
• Contribute to construction projects and improvements.
• Keep parks and facilities safe and functional.
• Flexible to work across multiple trades as needed.
