Job summary

Jamestown is seeking a Parking Ambassador – Traffic Director to support a safe, organized parking experience for tenants, visitors, and community members. You will direct traffic, monitor patterns, and adjust operations to maintain flow and safety, working both independently and with the operations team.

The role requires weekend availability (Friday through Monday) and strong customer service, judgment, and adaptability to changing conditions.

Qualifications

Must be 18 years of age or older.
Must read, write and interpret English.
Ability to operate a motorized vehicle and use a handheld computer.
Ability to understand and apply parking regulations.
Strong customer service skills and professional demeanor.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to handle payments and use timekeeping devices.
Willingness to work a flexible schedule including weekends.

Responsibilities

Direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic to ensure safe, efficient flow.
Manage entrances, exits, and loading zones to minimize congestion.
Coordinate with security and operations for real-time traffic control during events.
Provide directions and answer questions about locations and parking policies.
Issue citations or warnings for non-compliance with handheld or manual tickets; impound or relocate vehicles as directed.
Work alone when required, using sound judgement and diplomacy.
Assist maintenance with parking program duties and facility upkeep.
Maintain high visibility and situational awareness for changing conditions.
Assist with payment collections and revenue security.
Support event staff with parking setup and lot usage control.
Assist office staff with permit sales during peak seasons.
Other related duties as assigned; note that officers are not sworn police.
