Job summary

The University of Kentucky Transportation Services team is seeking an Electronic Technician I to support the daily operation, maintenance, and administration of parking and revenue-control systems.

This role involves analyzing LPR and parking data, reviewing applications, updating records, testing new technologies, and providing professional customer service to the university community. A strong attention to detail and ability to work both independently and with a team are essential.

Qualifications

  • Experience with technology systems, hardware, software applications, or automated equipment.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, discrepancies, and potential problems.
  • Strong documentation and record-keeping across multiple systems.
  • Ability to learn and test new parking technology and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze parking data to identify trends and potential discrepancies.
  • Review applications across systems to investigate and resolve issues.
  • Enter, update, verify, and maintain accurate records in internal/external systems.
  • Test and support new parking technologies, equipment, and best practices.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and first-level troubleshooting on access, revenue-control, and related equipment.
  • Monitor systems remotely and respond to alerts and malfunctions.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and system issues and escalate when needed.
  • Ensure reliable operation of parking access, gate, payment, and revenue-control systems.
  • Collect, count, reconcile revenue from meters and stations; deposit per procedures.
  • Maintain documentation of cash collections and equipment activity.
  • Follow cash-handling, security, and internal-control policies.
  • Provide professional customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
