Job summary

The University of Rochester is seeking a Parking Operations Technician to manage and maintain the Parking operation fleet, coordinate with the Auto Shop and external vendors, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance across campus facilities.

The role covers fleet scheduling, contractor coordination, and administrative duties related to parking infrastructure, with a schedule of Monday–Friday, 12:00 pm to 8:30 pm. A High School diploma with 3 years of relevant experience is required.

Qualifications

  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Schedules and performs preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment and systems (e.g., mechanical, electrical).
  • Evaluates and recommends equipment improvements to improve availability, capability and yield.
  • Performs equipment failure analyses, and troubleshoots and diagnoses equipment problems.
  • Prepares technical reports to document equipment modifications and equipment maintenance procedures.
  • Prepares reports on inspection findings and ensures proper vehicle maintenance to comply with prescribed safety regulations.
  • Develops design specifications for vehicle requisitions.
  • May negotiate vehicle and/or equipment purchase terms in coordination with the procurement function.
