Job summary

The Maryland Zoo is seeking a part-time Parking Security Officer to direct vehicle traffic, ensure guest safety, and support zoo operations. This role includes standing, walking, and maintaining activities in diverse weather conditions.

Minimum qualifications require a high school diploma and related experience. Candidates should possess excellent communication skills and a friendly disposition. The shifts are Friday through Monday from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM, contributing to the Zoo’s mission to protect wildlife and support community engagement.

Qualifications

• Minimum of six months related experience and/or training.
• Exposure to first aid and/or CPR training a plus.
• Exposure to safety and security protocols preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct cars, buses, and other traffic in parking areas.
• Monitor all parking areas to prevent break-ins and vandalism.
• Greet guests and respond to their questions in a friendly manner.
