Job summary

The City of Topeka is seeking a Maintenance Worker II for the Parking division to perform preventive maintenance and routine operational duties in City parking garages, lots and structures. The role involves maintenance of gates, ticket machines, card readers, parking meters, and related systems, along with landscaping duties.

Ideal candidates have basic tools knowledge, understand safety practices, and can handle a mobile work environment.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of mechanics and/or plumbing hand tools.
• Knowledge of standard safety practices.
• Thrives in a mobile work environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on parking garages to include gates, ticket machines, card readers and overhead operator equipment.
• Perform outside landscaping which includes mowing, trimming, trash and debris removal.
• Perform parking meter maintenance to include installation, removal, painting and repairs.
• Will learn the BI-monthly, Pay-On-Foot station cash handling procedures as well as the Scan Net computerized gate system.
