Job summary

City of Mankato is seeking a Facilities Worker to support the downtown Special Service Parking and Maintenance districts. This role performs a variety of building and grounds tasks under supervision of the Facilities Project Coordinator, ensuring safety, cleanliness, and reliable operation of parking assets.

Responsibilities include scheduling maintenance, operating parking control systems, supervising contractors, and enforcing parking regulations while maintaining a safe work environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum of two years in the building trades or grounds maintenance.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to drive in Minnesota.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates the use of equipment for general scheduled maintenance of parking lots, ramps, lawns.
• Maintains mechanical and structural systems and performs general repairs and painting.
• Performs maintenance and repairs to buildings, parking ramps, lots and sites.
• Issues citations to nonconforming vehicles.
• Operates gateless parking systems and pay stations.
• Trains and oversees part-time and contract staff; creates schedules and work orders.
