Job summary

Fishbeck in Kalamazoo is seeking a Parking Engineer Intern to support parking planning, new construction, and restoration projects within the Parking Department. You'll assist with design, evaluations, reports, and construction administration while learning from a multidisciplinary team.

The role requires current enrollment in civil or architectural engineering, a willingness to learn, and good communication and computer skills.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited civil or architectural engineering program.
• Willingness to learn and contribute to a variety of challenging projects.
• Previous internship experience is a plus.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD or similar design software is an asset.
• Excellent communication and computer skills.

Working with our Parking Department, you will support parking planning and studies, new parking structure design, parking structure restoration, field evaluations, report writing, and construction administration.

What You’ll Do

• Assist with office design work, field evaluations, report writing, and construction administration.
• Work closely with technical staff to support project development and execution.
• Help solve complex engineering problems by applying practical knowledge and innovative approaches.
• Engage in all stages of project delivery, from design through implementation.

What We’re Looking For

• Currently enrolled in an accredited civil or architectural engineering program.
• Willingness to learn and contribute to a variety of challenging projects.
• Previous internship experience is a plus.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD or similar design software is an asset.
• Excellent communication and computer skills.
• Enthusiasm for collaborating with project teams in a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment.
• Ability to occasionally perform light lifting, sit, walk, travel to and from projects, access and maneuver around project sites, use a computer and communication and documentation equipment, and maintain the visual acuity needed to perform the position’s responsibilities.
