Fishbeck, Thompson, Carr & Huber in Farmington Hills, MI, invites a Parking Engineer Intern to support parking planning, design, and restoration efforts within the Parking Department. The role involves field evaluations, report writing, and construction administration across multiple project stages.

The internship seeks students in civil/architectural engineering with strong communication and software skills. Prior internship is a plus; occasional lifting and travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited civil or architectural engineering program.
• Willingness to learn and contribute to a variety of challenging projects.
• Previous internship experience is a plus.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD or similar design software is an asset.
• Excellent communication and computer skills.
• Enthusiasm for collaborating with project teams in a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Parking Department on parking planning and studies, new parking structure design, and parking structure restoration.
• Assist with office design work, field evaluations, report writing, and construction administration.
• Work closely with technical staff to support project development and execution.
• Help solve complex engineering problems by applying practical knowledge and innovative approaches.
• Engage in all stages of project delivery, from design through implementation.
