Job summary

Fishbeck, Thompson, Carr & Huber is seeking a Municipal Intern for Summer 2027 at our Regional Michigan Office. You will assist in designing water mains, sanitary sewers, and roadways for local municipalities, and collaborate with engineers across offices.

You should be enrolled in a Civil Engineering program with strong communication and organizational skills; familiarity with AutoCAD and Civil 3D is a plus, and internship experience is helpful but not required.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Civil Engineering program.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and Civil 3D is a plus.
• Previous internship or co-op experience is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in designing water mains, sanitary sewers, and roadways for local municipalities.
• Perform design calculations, develop cost estimates, and draft plans using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Participate in site visits to gather data and observe field conditions.
• Collaborate with engineers across multiple offices and disciplines.
• Contribute to real projects that improve infrastructure and public services.
