Job summary

The City of Alpharetta is seeking a Parking Enforcement Officer to patrol city streets, enforce parking laws, and issue citations. The role includes assisting motorists, documenting enforcement actions, and maintaining related records.

Under supervision of a Police Sergeant, the incumbent will learn city regulations, complete required training, and maintain equipment while providing courteous service to the public in all weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of city and state parking ordinances and regulations.
• Ability to learn police procedures and applicable databases.
• Ability to maintain clear written records and reports.
• Must complete Parking Enforcement training program.
• Must possess or obtain a valid driver's license within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• patrol city areas by vehicle or on foot and issue parking citations for observed violations.
• Maintain equipment and supplies such as citation books and chalk.
• Enter citation data into the city’s automated system.
• Interact with the public and educate on parking regulations.
• Prepare for court appearances and testify when required.
