Job summary

The City of Manchester is seeking a dedicated Parking Enforcement Officer to patrol city streets and enforce parking laws. This part-time, 20-hour position requires vigilance, good judgment, and the ability to interact professionally with residents and visitors.

You will issue citations and warnings, assist the public, and coordinate with other city departments to keep fire lanes, hydrants, and access areas clear. Outdoor work with some hazards is expected.

Qualifications

• Graduation from High School or GED.
• 3–5 years of experience in legal enforcement operations.
• Able to pass a background check.
• Valid Driver’s License; First Aid; Naloxone training.

Responsibilities

• Patrols an assigned area to monitor for parking violations, issue citations and/or warnings as warranted.
• Ensures public safety by keeping fire hydrants, fire lanes, crosswalks, traffic signs, and handicap facilities open and accessible.
• Impol"unds vehicles parked overtime or illegally parked on City streets or private property.
• Serves as a central information point for citizens regarding public parking issues and City services.
• Develops familiarity with parking/traffic laws to justify citations.
• Completes written reports on vehicle impoundments and related information.
