Job summary

The City of Gainesville is seeking a Parking Enforcement Specialist to manage municipal meters, enforcement, and related operations. You will patrol areas, issue citations, assist the public, and maintain equipment while working under supervision.

Candidates should have a high school diploma and two years of public-facing experience, plus a valid driver license. Knowledge of parking software (T2 Flex, Flexpoint, PassportParking) is desirable, with rotating shifts and emergency assistance as

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Two years of public contact experience.
Knowledge of parking management software (T2 Flex, Flexpoint, PassportParking) desirable.
Valid driver license required within 30 days of start date.

Responsibilities

Patrols an assigned area by vehicle or on foot to ensure public compliance with existing parking ordinance.
Issues citations for parking violations and enforces parking regulations.
Participates in judicial proceedings by giving depositions, testifying at hearings, preparing and reviewing testimony for cases, and attending pre-trial conferences.
Assists the public with routine parking activities/questions.
Provides timely, courteous, and knowledgeable response to customer needs within area of assignment.
Observes and reports hazardous conditions that need repair.
Performs routine inspections of municipal parking equipment and facilities for proper maintenance, operation, and cleanliness.
Assist in parking meter operations including installation, removal, collection, auditing, and maintenance.
