Job summary

The City of Gainesville is seeking a Community Builder in the GG_Transportation: Parking Operations division to maintain and enforce municipal parking operations. This role focuses on patrolling, issuing citations, and supporting public parking activities with professionalism and courtesy.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma and two (2) years of public contact experience in the service sector.
• Experience and knowledge of parking management software (T2 Flex, Flexpoint, PassportParking or similar) is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Patrols an assigned area by vehicle or on foot to ensure public compliance with existing parking ordinance.
• Issues citations for parking violations and performs other enforcement of parking regulations mandated by Florida Statutes and City ordinances.
• Participates in judicial proceedings by giving depositions, testifying at hearings, preparing and reviewing testimony for cases, and attending pre-trial conferences.
• Assists public with routine parking activities/questions. Provides timely, courteous, and within area of assignment, knowledgeable response to customer needs.
• Observes and reports hazardous conditions, that need to be repaired.
• Performs routine inspections of municipal parking equipment and facilities for proper maintenance, operation, and cleanliness.
• Assist in parking meter operations; including installation, removal, collection, auditing, and maintenance.
