Job summary

SP+, a Metropolis company, is seeking a dependable cashier in Des Moines, IA. You will handle cash transactions for parking services, issue tickets, and assist customers to ensure a smooth flow of traffic in the facility.

Responsibilities include accurate cash handling, offering directions, resolving issues with supervisor support, and maintaining a clean, organized booth. Training and uniform are provided, with second/third shift options possible.

Qualifications

• Education and/or Experience: Less than high school education or up to one month related experience or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Availability to Work: Special shift requirements may vary; weekend shifts may be required.
• License Requirement: Valid state driver’s license if driving company vehicle.
• Mathematical skills: Add, subtract, multiply and divide; make change.
• Language skills: Read, write and present information clearly.
• Reasoning ability: Apply common sense in standard situations.
• Other skills: Use clock, calculator or credit card machine to handle transactions; maintain pleasant demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Receive payment from customers for parking services.
• Maintain security of cash and count bank at start of shift.
• Issue receipts or tickets and calculate totals.
• Operate cash register and quote prices for services.
• Assist customers with directions and inquiries; resolve complaints with supervisor help.
• Maintain booth cleanliness and stock supplies.
• Record transactions and prepare shift reports.
