Job summary

Mount Rushmore National Memorial in the Black Hills of South Dakota is hiring a Parking Attendant for the winter season to help guests navigate the parking facility and answer questions.

You will direct vehicles and pedestrians, maintain clean and safe areas, handle payments, and provide friendly guest service in a fast-paced environment at elevations above 5,000 feet. This seasonal role offers discounts and bonus programs through Xanterra.

Qualifications

• Previous hospitality experience is preferred.
• Excellent guest service.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where priorities change quickly.
• Willing to pitch in and help the team.
• Must be a positive team player with flexible schedules.
• Ability and willingness to work outside in varying weather conditions at elevations above 5,000 feet.

Responsibilities

• Act as a positive first contact with guests as they arrive.
• Provide clear direction and information to guests and vehicles on where to park.
• Respond to guest questions and inquiries in a professional manner.
• Help in maintaining cleanliness and clear surfaces of parking facility area, including booths, grounds, parking spaces, walkways.
• Act as a crossing guard at the pedestrian walkway between the parking facility and the Memorial.
• Follow proper cash handling and payment procedures.
• Follow Company and departmental environmental and safety practices, policies, and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

The Parking Attendant will direct guests in the parking structure and answer questions to ensure a positive guest experience.

The Details:

• Position Type: Seasonal
• Season Dates: November 2026 to April 2027
• Pay: $14.70/hour

Physical Requirements include:

• Constantly standing, walking, and handling.
• Frequently reaching outward, and lifting/carrying up to 10-20 pounds.
• Occasionally reach above shoulder, climbing, crawling, squatting/kneeling, bending, lifting/carrying 21-100 pounds, and pushing/pulling up to 100 pounds.
