Job summary

City of Indianapolis and Marion County is seeking a Parks Programs Supervisor to oversee daily supervision of sports, programs, services, and facilities at assigned park locations. You will manage recreational activities, enforce department rules, and ensure safe, welcoming experiences for all park users.

Responsibilities include developing events, coordinating schedules, handling cash deposits, and coordinating with staff.

Qualifications

• Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Coordinate multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Plan, organize, and supervise recreational activities.
• Work varied hours including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
• Knowledge of sports, games, and arts and crafts.
• Communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Obtain officials certification for recreation sports and crafts.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional conduct.

Responsibilities

• Develop, plan, and coordinate a wide variety of recreational events.
• Enforce policies and procedures and ensure safety.
• Schedule classes and supervise programs.
• Open/close facilities and secure assets.
• Maintain equipment and facilities and assist with maintenance.
• Prepare reports and inspections using department software.
