Job summary

Oregon Parks and Recreation Department seeks a permanent Park Ranger 2 for Harris Beach State Park near Brookings, Oregon. The role focuses on protecting natural and cultural resources, operating facilities, and delivering interpretive programs within the Harris Beach Management Unit.

The position requires hands-on maintenance skills across carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting, and landscape tasks, along with strong teamwork and safety awareness.

Qualifications

• Four years of visitor services experience (e.g. rule enforcement; interpretation; events) and/or maintenance experience.
• Associate’s degree plus 2.5 years of visitor services and/or maintenance experience.
• Bachelor’s degree plus 1 year of visitor services and/or maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

• Protect, maintain, operate and repair state park lands, resources, structures and systems.
• Carry out carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting and landscape maintenance tasks.
• Enforce park rules and provide visitor services across Harris Beach Management Unit.
