State-of-Nevad invites applications for a Park Ranger 1 at Wild Horse State Recreation Area, 65 miles north of Elko, NV. This commissioned law enforcement role focuses on park operations, resource protection, interpretation, and visitor services.

The position requires on-site residency, holiday/weekend hours, and training support including housing and law enforcement academy. Growth to Park Ranger 2 is possible after one year with proven performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or two years experience in park-related duties.
• Experience coordinating park operations, maintenance and visitor services.
• Knowledge of park laws and public safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and participate in day-to-day park operation and maintenance projects.
• Train, supervise and evaluate seasonal personnel; staff visitor centers and tours.
• Enforce laws and regulations; respond to emergencies and conduct safety operations.
• Plan, develop, and conduct interpretive activities and resource preservation projects.
