Job summary

State of Nevada, Big Bend State Recreation Area, seeks a commissioned Park Ranger to support operations, enforcement, and interpretive programs. The role covers maintenance, visitor services, incident response and reporting.

You will work varied shifts, including holidays and weekends, with housing options and state training provided. Advancement to Park Ranger 2 is possible after one year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or two years experience in park maintenance, interpretive programming, visitor services, and resource management.
• Experience as a Park Ranger Technician III or equivalent is acceptable.
• Equivalent education/experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and participate in day-to-day park operation and maintenance projects.
• Train, supervise and evaluate seasonal personnel; clean and maintain park facilities.
• Collect fees, staff visitor centers, and conduct tours.
• Enforce laws and respond to emergencies; conduct investigations and preserve peace.
• Develop and implement interpretive programs and special events.
