Job summary

The City of Hialeah seeks a Park Captain to oversee daily operations of a community recreational facility, supervise staff, and coordinate programs for youth and adults. You will help plan and implement recreational activities, manage/vendors, and ensure safety and smooth operations across indoor and outdoor spaces.

Qualifications include a college degree in Parks and Recreation or related field, plus two years of relevant experience with supervisory duties, and a Florida driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate's degree in parks/recreation or related field.
• Two years of progressively responsible parks/recreation experience, including at least one year of supervisory or management experience.
• Possession of a valid Florida driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the recreational facility.
• Plan, coordinate, direct and evaluate existing recreational programs and activities.
• Supervise full-time, part-time staff, volunteers, and contracted vendors.
• Prepare evaluations and training as needed.
• Perform facility inspections and ensure safety and security of equipment and facilities.
• Maintain records and prepare reports.
• Coordinate maintenance and repair of equipment and facilities.
• Enforce rules and administer first aid as required.

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Parks and Recreation, Recreation Administration, Physical Education, Sports Management, Public Administration, or a related field
