Job summary

City of College Station is seeking a Parks Operations Supervisor to oversee daily parks maintenance, staff, and related activities. You will organize projects, enforce standards, and assist in budget planning and purchases.

The role requires certification or the ability to obtain CPSI and a Texas Applicator license within 12 months, plus a valid Texas Driver’s License. Strong communication and knowledge of turf, landscaping, and basic trades are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; two years college/technical training preferred.
• Five years related experience in parks maintenance/operations; supervisory experience required.
• CPSI certification or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• Texas Non-commercial Applicator License or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• Valid Texas Driver’s License.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Knowledge of plumbing, irrigation, electrical repairs, welding, construction, turf management, and landscaping.

Responsibilities

• Plan, supervise, and participate in daily parks maintenance and related activities.
• Organize, monitor, and complete projects safely and on schedule; develop contingency plans.
• Enforce policies and ensure compliance with standards and procedures.
• Assist in preparing divisional budget; oversee purchases, bids, and specifications.
• Perform inspections and repairs of facilities, vehicles, equipment, and playgrounds; document findings.
• Maintain work orders and asset management records; track assignments.
• Provide support for park programs and events; coordinate with users and groups.
• Respond to inquiries, complaints, and rule violations; act as liaison for youth sports groups.
• Foster a safe, cooperative work environment; resolve disputes promptly.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
