A Park Maintenance Worker I performs routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections of park grounds, facilities, athletic fields, and recreational amenities. Duties include maintaining electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and irrigation systems; performing concrete and asphalt work, roofing, painting, carpentry, and welding; and assisting with construction, remodeling, landscaping, and shrubbery care.
Responsibilities include assisting with the operation and maintenance of the District’s splash pad and related aquatic systems. Duties include cleaning and inspecting the splash pad, monitoring water quality, performing basic water testing, maintaining chemical levels, inspecting pumps and filters, keeping operational logs, and reporting maintenance or safety concerns.
Additional responsibilities include preparing and maintaining natural grass, clay, and artificial turf fields for practices, games, tournaments, and special events. Duties may include dragging and leveling clay infields, chalking and striping fields, setting up athletic equipment, mowing and maintaining natural grass, and performing basic turf and irrigation repairs. Artificial turf maintenance may include brushing and grooming surfaces, removing debris, checking infill levels, inspecting for damage, and assisting with minor repairs.
Park Maintenance Workers may also assist with field conversions and event setup. Evening and weekend work may be required based on program and facility needs. This role helps maintain clean, safe, and welcoming parks and recreational facilities for the community.
This position is located in Bloomington, California.

The County also offers an alternative Modified Benefits Option (MBO) that provides a wage differential.

License: A valid California Class C Driver License is required to carry out the essential job-related functions of this position. Mileage reimbursement and proof of automobile liability insurance must be maintained.
Shift Availability: Candidates must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Working Conditions: Applicants must be able to perform heavy manual labor, work outdoors in extreme cold and in other varying weather conditions. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and have the ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend over, and crawl for extended periods in the performance of job duties for this position.
