Job summary

Texas Parks and Wildlife Department seeks a Maintenance Specialist III (Operations Ranger/Backup UPO) to manage and perform complex building, grounds, and facility maintenance at Choke Canyon State Park. The role includes operating water and wastewater systems and assisting in revenue, visitor services, and enforcement of park rules.

Under general supervision with some latitude, you will prepare reports, train staff, and respond to emergencies.

Qualifications

• Graduation from High School or GED.
• Three years of facility, equipment or grounds maintenance experience.
• Must possess or be able to obtain, within 30 days of employment, a valid State driver’s license.
• Must possess or be able to obtain, within one year of employment, Class 'D' Water and Wastewater operator license issued by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex building, grounds, and facility maintenance.
• Back-Up Utility Plant Operator duties for water and wastewater systems.
• Prepare reports, training park personnel, revenue collection and accounting, provide visitor services, and assist in enforcing park rules.
