Job summary

Texas Parks and Wildlife Department - Cedar Hill State Park is seeking a Maintenance Specialist II to perform routine building maintenance, operate facilities and assist in enforcing park rules. The role includes using tools and equipment, supporting visitor services, and adapting to variable hours.

Under supervision, you will handle daily maintenance tasks, basic repairs, and safety procedures while working with park staff and the public.

Qualifications

• Graduation from High School or GED.
• Two years of facility, equipment or grounds maintenance experience.
• Must possess a valid State driver's license.
• Ability to work outdoors and perform manual labor up to 50 lbs.
• Willingness to work fluctuating hours and overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine (journey-level) building maintenance and construction work.
• Operate park facilities, grounds, equipment, and visitor services.
• Assist in enforcing park rules and regulations and provide customer service.
• Use hand and power tools, mowers, trimmers, and other mechanical equipment.
• Travel up to 5% and respond to emergencies or on-call situations.
