Texas Parks and Wildlife Department seeks a Maintenance Supervisor III (Lead Operations Ranger) at Eisenhower State Park near Denison, TX. You will supervise facilities, grounds, utilities, and equipment, performing advanced maintenance and coordinating daily operations under park leadership.

Under the direction of the Park Superintendent and Assistant Park Superintendent, this position performs advanced (senior-level) supervisory maintenance and construction work. Responsible for the daily operation, maintenance, and repair of facilities, grounds, utilities, and equipment within Eisenhower State Park, including all associated administrative duties as related to the maintenance functions. Supervises, trains, and provides leadership to classified, hourly, Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) crews, and volunteer staff. Performs preventative maintenance/cleaning of facilities and grounds. Duties include and are not limited to mowing, trimming, garbage collection, preventative maintenance/cleaning of restrooms, carpentry, plumbing, mechanical repairs, and vehicle maintenance. Operates and maintains various types of equipment including hand tools, power tools, mowers, tractors, heavy equipment, and trucks. Assists in purchasing supplies and materials, conducting special events, and revenue collection and accounting. Serves as the Additional Safety Officer for the park. Serves as the Back-Up Utility Plant Operator (UPO). Works under minimal supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Performs additional duties as assigned. Complies with all Agency, Division and Branch rules, regulations and procedures.
Graduation from High School or GED.
Four years of facility, equipment, or grounds maintenance.
Three years of experience as a supervisor or team leader, which may include oversight of paid staff, volunteers, or alternative workforce.
NOTE: Experience may have occurred concurrently.
Must possess or be able to obtain, within 30 days of employment, a valid state driver's license.
Must possess or be able to obtain, within one year of employment, a class "D" Water and Wastewater license issued by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).
NOTE: Retention of position contingent upon obtaining and maintaining required licenses and compliance with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality's (TCEQ) Criminal Conviction Guidelines.
Five years of general maintenance experience in repairing buildings, equipment, plumbing, electrical systems, or grounds maintenance experience, such as operating lawn mowers, tractors, trucks, and power or hand tools.
Experience working with the public in a park setting.
Experience with water and/or wastewater systems.
Knowledge of TCEQ rules and regulations on the proper operation and performance standards for water distribution systems and water treatment systems.
Knowledge of facility, equipment, and ground maintenance repair programs and repair techniques.
Knowledge of general custodial duties.
Knowledge of basic plumbing, carpentry, electrical, welding, masonry, and mechanical maintenance and repair tasks.
Knowledge of basic mathematics.
Knowledge of general maintenance techniques and minor repairs of facilities and equipment.
Knowledge of cost/budget estimation.
Knowledge of financial and inventory management.
Knowledge of building and grounds maintenance.
Knowledge of fire and safety regulations and procedures.
Knowledge of local building codes.
Skill in using MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
