Job summary

Genesee County Parks is seeking a semi-skilled Park Maintenance Worker to perform a variety of tasks including cleaning and operating light equipment, vacuuming porta-johns and vault toilets, and assisting with minor repairs across park facilities.

Eligible candidates will have at least 1 year of park maintenance or vacuum truck experience (or 6 months seasonal parks experience) and a valid Michigan CDL-B with air brake and tank endorsements; weekend and irregular hours may be required.

Qualifications

• One (1) year of experience in building, grounds or equipment maintenance or operation of a vacuum truck.
• OR
• Six (6) months of seasonal parks maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

• Vacuums porta-johns and vault toilets in all Parks facilities
• Gathers refuse and rubbish from park areas
• Assists in making minor repairs to buildings and equipment
• Performs routine custodial work in park buildings and equipment
• Performs semi-skilled duties in the construction and repair of park projects
