Job summary

Genesee County, MI is seeking a park maintenance worker to perform semi-skilled tasks, operate light equipment, vacuum porta-johns and vault toilets, and assist with park projects and custodial duties across county facilities.

Applicants must have at least 1 year of relevant maintenance experience or 6 months seasonal parks work, and obtain a CDL-B with air brake/tank within six months; weekend/holiday hours may be required, plus a valid Michigan driver’s license.

Starting Pay: $22.2553 Hourly ($46,291)

Step A: $22.8577 Hourly ($47,544)

Step E: $25.4370 Hourly ($52,909)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

One (1) year of experience in building, grounds or equipment maintenance or operation of a vacuum truck;

- OR-

Six (6) months of seasonal parks maintenance experience.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must possess a valid unrestricted Michigan driver's license with CDL-B with air brake and tank endorsement and good driving record within six (6) months of employment. Failure to obtain such certification shall be just cause for termination of employment.
• Must be willing to work weekends, holidays and irregular hours.
• Must be courteous in dealing with the general public and fellow staff members.
• Must be willing to wear prescribed work uniform.
