Job summary

Missouri Department of Natural Resources seeks a maintenance worker for the Katy Trail State Park area (Machens to Matson). The role runs Monday–Thursday, 7:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m. with a 30‑minute lunch, and requires CDL within six months if not already held. Expect skilled repairs, equipment operation, and visitor assistance.

Qualifications

• Four to six years of on-the-job training in building, electrical, plumbing, or mechanical trades.
• Equivalent training or experience may substitute for the required education or experience.
• Lack of post-secondary education will not be used as the sole basis denying consideration.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of skilled work in maintenance, natural resource stewardship, and repair or alteration of state buildings and facilities.
• Work in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, concrete and masonry, painting, plastering, and mechanical repair.
• Routine cleaning of park buildings, restrooms, campsites, and park grounds.
• Operate and maintain lawn mowers, tractors, skid loader, trucks, chainsaws, leaf blowers, and related equipment.
• Basic computer use for timekeeping, assisting visitors, and reporting.
• Supervise a crew engaged in maintenance tasks if assigned.
