Springfield Park District in Springfield, IL seeks a Shop Supervisor – General Maintenance to oversee vehicle and equipment maintenance, manage shop operations, and supervise technicians. The role requires managing work orders, records and inventory while coordinating with outside shops and district leadership.

Requirements include experience in mechanical maintenance, strong communication, and a valid Illinois driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Experience repairing and maintaining vehicles, tools and equipment.
• Ability to manage a mechanical maintenance shop and inventory.
• Valid Illinois Driver's License with Class C.
• ASE or equivalent certification within 6 months of hire.
• Effective written and oral communication.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word/Excel).

Responsibilities

• Oversee and perform mechanic duties for vehicles, mowers, and equipment.
• Maintain inventories of parts, tools, and supplies.
• Run shop operations and maintain records and work orders.
• Coordinate with outside shops and procurement with Superintendent.
• Train mechanics and other employees as needed.
