Job summary

Texas Parks and Wildlife Department is seeking a Maintenance Specialist IV to oversee complex maintenance at Indian Lodge State Park in Fort Davis, TX. You will repair and maintain facilities, equipment and grounds, manage projects and assist with safety and preventative maintenance programs.

The role requires extensive hands-on skills in HVAC, plumbing, electrical and refrigeration, plus experience with historic structures and public interaction.

Qualifications

• Graduation from High School or GED.
• Four years of facility, equipment or grounds maintenance experience.
• Must possess or be able to obtain a valid State driver’s license within 30 days of employment.
• Must possess or be able to obtain a Certified Pool Operators license within 30 days of employment.
• Retention of position contingent upon obtaining and maintaining required licenses.
• Experience in HVAC, plumbing, electrical and/or refrigeration in a commercial environment.
• Experience maintaining historic structures.
• Experience working with the public.

Responsibilities

• Manage and conserve the natural and cultural resources of the park.
• Perform highly complex maintenance and repair work on equipment, facilities and grounds.
• Plan, perform, and complete maintenance projects; repair plumbing, refrigeration, HVAC and electrical systems.
• Assist in safety program implementation and preventative maintenance schedules.
• Handle administrative duties including reporting and purchasing for the maintenance dept.
