Job summary

West Valley City Corporation is seeking Parks Workers to maintain City Parks and related properties. The role includes mowing, irrigation, repairs, and general facility upkeep with on-site supervision of summer crews.

This full-time position offers comprehensive benefits and a clear path from Park Worker I to II with increasing responsibilities. Park Worker I requires a high school diploma and 3 years in Parks/Grounds maintenance; Park Worker II requires 5 years or 3 years in Park Worker I plus

Qualifications

• Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide; basic geometric calculations.
• Must have strong written and verbal English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Park Worker I: perform mowing, weeding, irrigation maintenance and general park upkeep.
• Park Worker I: maintain facilities like restrooms, pavilions and playgrounds.
• Park Worker I: operate equipment and handle manual tasks; lift up to 50 lbs.
• Park Worker II: assist Parks Superintendent in budgeting and landscape work planning.
• Park Worker II: respond to emergency calls and supervise summer crews as needed.
