Job summary

Milwaukee County Parks is seeking a Lead Park Maintenance Worker in Wisconsin to oversee day-to-day park unit operations, ensuring quality facilities, amenities, and a safe environment for visitors. The role preserves assets and drives service quality across park sites.

You will supervise staff, coordinate priorities, and manage maintenance tasks ranging from grounds care to pool operations, while ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.

Qualifications

• At least one year of Grounds, Landscape, or Park Maintenance experience.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Willing to obtain Category 3.0 Pesticide Certification within six months; Class B CDL and First Aid/ CPR within six months.

Responsibilities

• Supervise seasonal park operations staff and set priorities.
• Maintain park green spaces: mowing, trimming, fertilization, irrigation, and athletic field upkeep.
• Set up and maintain baseball/softball fields and tennis courts to competitive standards; assist with ice rinks.
