Job summary

North Carolina Division of Parks and Recreation is seeking a Maintenance/Construction Technician II to perform hands-on maintenance of grounds, facilities, and equipment at Raven Rock State Park. The role includes plumbing, carpentry, electrical work, and auto mechanics, with opportunities to supervise on select projects.

Typical schedule is Monday–Friday, with evenings and weekends on rotation. Must be able to lift and work in various conditions; requires a valid US driver's license and

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and one year of related trade experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Two or more trades (carpentry, plumbing, electrical and/or auto mechanics) preferred.
• Certifications such as EPA Type I/II/III or Universal technician may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform semi-skilled tasks in trades (carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC) and/or auto mechanics.
• Operate large and small equipment and tools as part of park maintenance.
• Purchase resources per state policies; maintain records and forms.
• Assist in housekeeping and may supervise staff or volunteers on projects.
