Job summary

Berkeley County Government seeks a Park Maintenance Assistant to support building and grounds maintenance around facilities and protect natural habitats. Work is near water and wildlife in controlled and/or natural environments.

Responsibilities include planting, mowing, equipment maintenance, loading supplies, and assisting with park rentals. Must have a high school diploma and at least one year of related maintenance experience; background check may be conducted.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of related maintenance experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine building and grounds maintenance including planting, painting and preservation of buildings.
• Maintain equipment and perform preventative maintenance on scheduled equipment.
• Operate landscape tools and small power tools as needed.
• Support park rental setup and cleanup and assist guests during tours.
